José Luis Trejo

Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, Complutense University at Madrid (Spain) in 1997. He was working at the Department of Cellular Biology in the Faculty of Biological Sciences in the Complutense University till 1997. Later in the Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Neuroendocrinology of the Institute of Neurobiology "Santiago Ramón y Cajal" of the High Council of Scientific Investigation (CSIC) at Madrid, and in the Department of Neuroscience, Behaviour and Neurodegeneration of the Institute of Psychiatry of the King's College at London (UK). From 2005, he is the head of the Group of Adult Neurogenesis in the Cajal Institute (CSIC) at Madrid.

María V. Llorens-Martín

Ph.D. in in Biological Sciences, Complutense University at Madrid (Spain) in 2004. She was working in the Department of Neural Plasticity of the Cajal Institute (CSIC) at Madrid with the Professor Adolfo Toledano (introduction to investigation fellowship, CSIC).

From 2005 to 2008, she prepares the doctoral thesis with an I3P contract in the Group of Adult Neurogenesis in the Cajal Institute (CSIC) with Dr. José L. Trejo. Her work focuses on the role of the immature neurons born in the rodent adult hippocampus, with special attention to the effect of the physical exercise, the enriched environment and the stress.

She obtained her PhD degree with the doctoral thesis entitled «Cellular mechanisms involved in the effects of the physical activity on behaviour. Role of the adult hippocampal neurogenesis»

Lourdes Hontecillas-Prieto

Graduate in Biological Sciences, Complutense University at Madrid (Spain) in 2005. She was working in the Fundación LAIR at Madrid from 2005 to 2007. From 2007, she prepares the doctoral thesis with a CIBERNED contract in the Group of Adult Neurogenesis in the Cajal Institute (CSIC) with Dr. José L. Trejo.
